Nov 30, 2022Reminder:
4.Simplified and Results-driven Habits For a Better Life
When living in the mode of autopilot, we often ignore the small and exciting things
happening around us. If your life is all about fulfilling our tasks, daily chores, and
following the same boring routine every day, it is time to change that. Not only does it
deprive you of feeling the sensation of excitement and striving for better, but it affects
your mental health as well.
Being in the Present and Your Mental Health
There have been researches that proved that being in the present not only makes your
life better, but it also helps in dealing with the issues like stress, anxiety, depression,
and overall makes you mentally well. Mindfulness makes you mentally active, you
observe things happening around you, step out of your daily boring routine and get
ready for new adventures as well. When you are completely present, you can tell how
and when your mental health is being disturbed and how to deal with it right away.
Also when you mindfully present, you perform your tasks more efficiently, create new
ideas, be better at implementing new things, and much more. When you feel good
about the things you do on a daily basis, it enhances the quality of your mental health.
How to be Present in the Moment?
If you are having issues in regulating your emotions, taking care of your mental health,
dealing with issues like depression, taking care of small tasks, and being happy, then
you need to start focusing on living in the moment. Here are some of the things that you
can do to start making changes:
1. Mindful Eating
Mostly, we give the least attention to our mealtime. It is time to change that as this small
change can let you experience mindfulness. Observe the small details in your meals,
know what you are eating, how does it taste, and how does it feel when it goes down
your throat.
2. Adopt New Habit
We often lose the touch of excitement when we have nothing new to do. Living the
same routine every day can easily push you to autopilot mode. The trick to change that
is to adopt a small habit and stick to it. Try to practice that habit every even for a few
minutes and fully involve yourself in it.
3. Meditation
Do you want to live in the moment? Meditation is the best way to go. Just a few minutes
of meditation and you will see the change. During meditation, you leave all your worries,
thoughts about your chores, and focus on yourself only. It is the best time to focus on
your emotions and feelings.
4. Cut Down your Phone Usage
Unless your work depends on it, you can easily cut down the smartphone and social
media usage from your life. When on autopilot, you also scroll through your phone
mindlessly for the most of your day. Try to avoid that and only use your phone when it is
required.
Being in the present improves the overall quality of your life including your mental
health. It is time to practice these small things and see the change in your life. It is time
to come back to the present.
